The Art of Acting:
Preparing and Presenting a Dramatic Staged Reading
With this 8-week acting workshop we begin our first Adult Acting Workshop! This workshop is for people new to the craft or returning after a hiatus or for those who just want an opportunity to get back on stage in a supportive, safe environment – without the obligation of memorizing lines. Participants will experience first-hand the joys and camaraderie of preparing, rehearsing and presenting a dramatic staged reading. Our rehearsal process will incorporate work on speech and diction, script analysis, the physicality and movement of your character, as well as theatre language and terminology. This is your chance to move out of your comfort zone and onto the stage for our reading of “12 ANGRY JURORS.”
Class size is kept to a maximum of 12 people.
All experience levels, ages 18 and up are encouraged to participate.
January 11 – January 18 – January 25
February 8 – February 15 – February 22
March 1 – March 8
Enrollment for the program of classes is $60.00.
The class will culminate in three dramatic staged readings of Reginald Rose’s “12 ANGRY JURORS” on March 12, 13 & 14 in our new Black Box venue – The Little Theatre.
